Ready for Heaven!

God had made a tremendous promise.  He is a “rewarder of them that diligently seek Him”.    It is true that religion has made him seem far away, but He said, “If ye seek Him, He will be found of you.”  The great reason God has given us the Bible is so that we may “know that we have eternal life.”

Many have tried to find him on their own terms, but God said, “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, the end thereof are the ways of death.”  Religion claims that all roads lead to Heaven, but Jesus said, “No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

It is a fascinating truth that a man will spend his life planning his future.  He will plan for his education, his family, his business, his vacations, his children’s education, and his retirement, yet the same man will never “prepare to meet thy God”.  Jesus said there is a way to plan for eternity.

“Search the Scriptures: for in them ye think ye have eternal life.”  An individual that goes to God’s Word for the answers will discover God’s plan of Salvation instead of human reasoning.  He will quickly understand that eternal life cannot be earned nor can it be bought.  It is the “gift of God”, it is “not of works”, and it is completely through “Jesus Christ our Lord”.

A man loves to “proclaim ... his own goodness”, but God sees us in our real light.  He knows that “all have sinned”, “there is none that doeth good”, and that “we are all ... unclean”.  Even the good things we do to impress God and others before His perfection are as “filthy rags”.  There lies the great issue.  We love to see ourselves in the best possible light, but when we compare ourselves to the perfect Son of God, we “come short of the glory of God”.  We stand “condemned” and “guilty”.  In truth we are sinners, and sinners are in need of a Savior.

Jesus told us why He came to this sin-filled world.  “The Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”  He said, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”  For that reason, He came to die a brutal death on the cross.  “Christ died for our sins.”  The Bible says, “The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”  God’s salvation is in Christ and Christ alone.  He is not a part of salvation, but rather, He is salvation.  “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby ye must be saved.”

To receive God’s precious salvation, a person must first come to God’s Word realizing they stand guilty.  God said, “Thou shalt not” and I have said “oh yes I will”.  God said, “Thou shalt” and I have decided “no, I won’t”.  We have broken His law and we are guilty.

Then a person must understand that Jesus “died and rose again”, and that He is the only Savior.  By simple faith, they must repent and trust only Christ to wash their sins away.  “As many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.”  “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

I plead with you my friend to go to the Bible.  Search the Scriptures I have quoted from and see it for yourself.  If I can help you trust Christ as your Savior, please contact me.
